Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• Essential Qualification:
  • Ph.D. in the relevant discipline.
  • First class in all preceding degrees from graduation (UG) onward. Where not specified, a minimum of 6.5 CGPA/CPI on a 10-point scale or 60% marks in aggregate.
  • At least one degree from graduation onward should be from IISc/IITs/IIITs/NITs/IIMs/ISI/IISERs, or the candidate must be working in a regular pay scale at one of these institutes. Equivalent foreign degrees from National Universities or institutions ranked up to 500 in QS/THE World Rankings are acceptable.
• Experience Requirement:
  • Three years of experience after Ph.D., or six years total experience (excluding Ph.D. enrolment period) after obtaining M.Tech.
  • Two published papers in SCI journals outside the Ph.D. work.
  • One ongoing sponsored project (for candidates from academia).
  • Two experiments or computational projects added to teaching laboratories where appropriate.
• Desirable Requirements: One ongoing Ph.D. supervision, one patent, industry or R&D lab experience, and supervision of M.Tech/M.Sc/B.Tech projects on live industrial problems.
• Note: Part-time, daily-wage, visiting/guest faculty, or purely contract-based experience will not be counted.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

1. Screening: A committee shortlists candidates based on qualifications, research output, and experience beyond the minimum.
2. Phase 1 (Presentation): Shortlisted candidates present their teaching and research work.
3. Phase 2 (Interview): Candidates clearing the presentation are interviewed by the Selection Committee.

The Institute reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates called based on qualifications and research output. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the presentation/interview.
