Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

Essential Qualification – Young Professional-I

• Degree: Graduates in Fisheries Science / Mariculture / Zoology / Marine Biology.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience in aquaculture practices
• Proficiency in computer software
• Skill in swimming (certificate, if any, to be produced)

Additional Details Sought in Application

• Title and duration of Masters project (if any)
• Published research papers (if any)

Age Limit

• Minimum 21 years; Maximum 45 years as on the date of interview. Relaxations as per rules apply. The notification does not specify category-wise relaxation details.

CGPA/OGPA Clause

• Candidates whose marks are issued in CGPA/OGPA format must produce an approved conversion table/formula at the time of interview. Failure to do so will result in non-consideration of candidature.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

1. Application Screening: Candidates must email their bio-data and self-attested scanned documents to [email protected] on or before 19 November 2026.
2. Shortlisting: Only shortlisted candidates will be intimated via email. Only candidates who receive this official communication will be permitted to appear for the interview.
3. Document Verification: Original documents will be verified at the interview on 25 November 2026 at 10:00 AM. Candidates must report one hour before the scheduled time (by 09:00 AM).
4. Interview: Direct personal interview of shortlisted and document-verified candidates.

Note: No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The decision of the Director, ICAR-CMFRI will be final and binding in all respects. The total number of vacancies may vary depending on project requirements at the time of interview.

Tenure & Job Nature

• The appointment is purely temporary for a period of 1 year or may be extended to 2 more years till project completion as per ICAR guidelines.
• Services will automatically stand terminated with the termination of the Project/Scheme, or even before at the discretion of the Competent Authority.
• The appointment is purely contractual, non-regular and time-bound, and is co-terminus with the project.
• This position confers no claim for regular employment at ICAR-CMFRI or any other ICAR Institute.

1. Completed application in the prescribed format (downloaded from www.cmfri.org.in or taken from the printed notice).
2. Self-attested photograph (3.5 x 4.5 cm) attached to the application.
3. Self-attested scanned copies of Provisional / Final degree certificate (UG), Intermediate / 10+2, and SSC / Xth class certificate.
4. If a relative of the candidate is an employee of ICAR-CMFRI: Annexure-I declaration sent to the Scientist-in-charge on or before 19 November 2026.

Documents to Bring at Interview (25 November 2026)

1. Original certificates and self-attested copies of all documents supporting educational qualification from matriculation onwards and experience
2. Duly filled bio-data with a passport-size photograph attached
3. No Objection Certificate from the present employer, if any
4. One valid ID proof
5. Approved CGPA/OGPA conversion table/formula (where applicable)
6. Annexure-I declaration, if not already sent in advance

Important Instructions

• Candidates with a relative employed at ICAR/CMFRI must submit the Annexure-I declaration in advance with the relative's name, designation, nature of duties, and relationship. All other candidates must furnish Annexure-I at the time of interview.
• If the Annexure-I information is found incorrect or facts are concealed, candidature is liable to be cancelled.
• If an applicant is found to have wilfully concealed or misrepresented facts, or to have canvassed, the applicant will not be considered for selection — this applies at document verification even after selection.

2. Fill the one-page application in the prescribed format only, attaching a self-attested photograph (3.5 x 4.5 cm).
