West Bengal Government Holiday 2022: The list of holidays can differ from one state to another depending upon the state and which festivals are prominent in the region. Check here the list of public holidays in West Bengal for 2022. As per the State Government’s 2022 calendar unveiled, the total number of public holidays stood at 48.
West Bengal is a state in eastern India, between the Himalayas and the Bay of Bengal. Its capital, Kolkata (formerly Calcutta), retains architectural and cultural remnants of its past as an East India Company trading post and capital of the British Raj. The city’s colonial landmarks include the government buildings around B.B.D. Bagh Square, and the iconic Victoria Memorial, dedicated to Britain’s queen.
India celebrates three national holidays every year; in January, we celebrate Republic Day to honour the creation of our constitution. Independence Day is celebrated in August to honour freedom from the United Kingdom. Finally, Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated in October.
