Sikkim Government Holiday 2022: The list of holidays can differ from one state to another depending upon the state and which festivals are prominent in the region. Sikkim is a state in northeast India, bordered by Bhutan, Tibet and Nepal. Part of the Himalayas, the area has a dramatic landscape that includes India’s highest mountain, 8,586m Kangchenjunga. Sikkim is also home to glaciers, alpine meadows and thousands of varieties of wildflowers. Steep paths lead to hilltop Buddhist monasteries such as Pemayangtse, which dates to the early 1700s.
India celebrates three national holidays every year; in January, we celebrate Republic Day to honour the creation of our constitution. Independence Day is celebrated in August to honour freedom from the United Kingdom. Finally, Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated in October.

School Holidays in Sikkim 2022
Almost every Government holiday mentioned above are observed by the schools of Sikkim state. Other than this, Sundays are marked as holidays too. However, Saturdays are not observed as holidays by all the schools and every school has its own policy regarding this.
