The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification for the Combined Medical Services Examination (CMS) 2025, providing numerous opportunities for aspiring medical professionals across India. This prestigious examination aims to fill various medical officer positions in different cadres, including General Duty Medical Officers in the Central Health Service, Assistant Divisional Medical Officers in Railways, and General Duty Medical Officers in municipal councils and corporations. There are a total of 705 vacancies available. The application process commenced on 19th February 2025 and will continue until 11th March 2025.

Educational Qualifications

For admission to the examination, a candidate should have passed the written and practical parts of the final M.B.B.S. Examination.

Note:

  • A candidate who has appeared or has yet to appear at the final M.B.B.S. The examination may also apply.
  • A candidate who has yet to complete the compulsory rotating internship is educationally eligible for admission to the examination but on selection he/she will be appointed only after he/she has completed the compulsory rotating internship.

Age Limit

A candidate for this examination must not have attained the age of 32 years as on 1st August 2024 i.e. the candidate must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1992. However, for Medical Officers Grade in General Duty Medical Officers Subcadre of Central Health Services, the upper age limit must not exceed 35 (thirty-five years) as on 1st August, 2024.

Pay Scale

Rs. 56,100-2,18,200/- per month

Selection Process

The selection process for the above-mentioned posts is based on a Written Examination and interview/ Personality Test.

Note:

  • The candidates will take the Computer based examination in two Papers,
  • Each Paper carries a maximum of 250 marks.

  • Negative Marking – Candidates should note that there will be a penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers. One-third (0.33) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty.
