CA stands for Chartered Accountant. A Chartered Accountant is a person who has specialized knowledge and skills in the field of accountancy, management and audit. A candidate can become a Chartered Accountant by pursuing the CA course which can be done after completing 12th Standard. The CA selection process starts with the foundation program which tests the basic knowledge of a candidate in English, statistics, economics and accountancy. Chartered Accountants can head the finance department or even become officials who can carry on independent audit for various companies. A Chartered Accountant can perform the following work - Accounting, Auditing, Taxation, Cost Accountancy, Special company work, Executors and Trustees, Directorship, Company secretarial work, Investigation and Shared valuation work.
