Educational Qualification & Experience:Ex-servicemen/JCOs from Army or Paramilitary Forces with 5 years of security experience. Age and experience will be counted as on 31.08.2026.
Skills:Security management, fire-fighting, surveillance, communication (Hindi/English), computer knowledge, liaison with police and authorities.
Age Limit:Maximum 28 years as on 31.08.2026. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC is not applicable as this is an unreserved post. Ex-servicemen get relaxation of 3 years after deducting military service. Widows/divorced women get relaxation up to 35 years.
Salary (per month): Level-6: ₹35,400 - ₹1,12,400 (Approx. Gross: ₹66,435/month). Usual allowances (DA, TA, HRA) are admissible as per 7th CPC.
Selection Procedure:
- Stage-I: Skill/Physical and Personality Assessment Test (PAT) - Qualifying in nature (min 30%). Includes Physical Standards, Physical Tests (Running, Long Jump, Chin-ups, Push-ups, Sit-ups), and an Objective Test (100 marks, 1.5 hours).
- Stage-II: Competitive Written Examination - Subjective (100 marks, 2 hours). Topics: Comprehension, Report Writing, Security Regulations/Firefighting, General Awareness (25 marks each). Min qualifying marks: 35%.
- Final Merit List - Based on performance in the Competitive Written Examination.
Application Fee: ₹500 for General/OBC/EWS candidates via Demand Draft/Banker's Cheque in favour of "The Director, CSIR-IHBT, Palampur (H.P.)" payable at Palampur. Exempted for SC/ST/Women/Ex-Servicemen candidates.
