Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
- The Chairperson of the Forum shall be one of the following:
- A retired senior judicial officer; or
- A retired civil servant not below the rank of Additional Collector or equivalent; or
- A retired Principal of a reputed Engineering college; or
- A retired Professor of the Electrical Engineering Department of a reputed institute; or
- A retired senior electrical engineer of the Government.
- Working knowledge of the vernacular language of the State of Maharashtra is preferred.
- Meeting minimum qualifications does not by itself entitle a candidate to selection.
- Term of appointment: Fixed term of three (3) years, extendable by up to two (2) years, subject to overall age limit of 65 years.
Selection Process & Screening Clause
If necessary, selection may be based on an interview conducted by the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission. The Commission will check the integrity and background of applicants. MERC may appoint a candidate to one of the preferred locations or to any other vacant position based on the interview or appointment process. Incomplete applications and applications received after the due date will not be considered. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview, except where a Chairperson holds additional charge of another CGRF, in which case TA/DA is paid at the rate applicable to a Chief Engineer or equivalent.
