Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
- Skill Assistant Professor (History):
- Master's degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in History or a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University or an accredited foreign university.
- Must have qualified NET (UGC or CSIR) or SLET/SET, OR a Ph.D. awarded under UGC Regulations, 2009 or 2016, OR a Ph.D. from a foreign university ranked in the top 500 (QS, THE, or ARWU of Shanghai Jiao Tong University).
- Candidates registered for a Ph.D. before 11 July 2009 are exempt from NET/SLET/SET if five conditions are met (Regular mode, external examiner evaluation, open viva, research publications, conference papers). Applicants registered on or after 11 July 2009 must submit a valid certificate of compliance with UGC Regulations 2009/2016.
- Knowledge of Hindi/Sanskrit up to matriculation or higher is essential. Candidates must be citizens of India.
- Degrees from open/distance universities must be recognized by the Distance Education Council, IGNOU.
- Relaxation in Marks: 5% relaxation (55% becomes 50%) for SC/ST/Backward Class 'A' and 'B' (Non-Creamy layer) of Haryana, and differently-abled candidates. 5% relaxation for Ph.D. holders who obtained their Master's degree before 19 September 1991.
Selection Process & Screening Clause
- Written Test: All applicants are allowed to appear. Minimum 40% marks are mandatory to qualify (38% for DSC/OSC/BC/PwBD).
- Eligibility Scrutiny: Only applicants who qualify the written test are scrutinised for eligibility.
- Shortlisting: Eligible and test-qualified applicants are shortlisted based on an academic score out of 100 (Academic record: 80, Research publications: 10, Teaching experience: 10). Shortlisted candidates are called for interview in a ratio of 1:15 for the first post.
- Final Selection (Composite Score): Domain Knowledge (Written Test): 50 marks, Teaching Skills (PPT Presentation): 30 marks, Interview: 20 marks. Total 100 marks. Minimum 50% composite marks (47.5% for reserved categories) is required to be considered suitable.
No TA/DA will be paid for attending any test or interview. TA/DA is payable only for official tours.

- EWS certificate on the prescribed proforma, issued after 31.03.2026 and valid for 2026-27.
- ESM/DESM: fresh eligibility certificate from the concerned Zila Sainik Board.
- Valid proof of journal status and authorship, research papers, CGPA conversion document, and Ph.D. UGC Regulations certificate where applicable.
- Experience certificate showing period, designation, and pay (if claimed).
