Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
- Assistant Professor (Commerce):
- Qualification A: A Master's degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade in a point-scale) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University or equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university; AND Cleared NET conducted by UGC or CSIR, or a similar test accredited by UGC like SLET/SET, or awarded a Ph.D. per UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016.
- Qualification B (Alternative): Ph.D. from a foreign university/institution ranked among top 500 in QS, THE, or ARWU World University Ranking (at any time).
- Language Requirement: Knowledge of Gujarati/Hindi is essential, as the medium of instruction at all levels is generally Gujarati.
- All other conditions as per UGC Regulations, 2018, amended from time to time.
Relaxations: 5% relaxation at Bachelor's and Master's level (55% → 50%) for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/Differently-abled candidates based only on qualifying marks without grace marks. 5% relaxation (55% → 50%) for Ph.D. holders who obtained their Master's Degree prior to 19 September 1991.
Selection Process & Screening Clause
- Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted for interview on the basis of the Academic Score as specified in Appendix II (Table 3A) for Universities and Appendix II (Table 3B) for Colleges.
- Interview: Final selection is based solely on performance in the personal interview.
- Canvassing in any form on behalf of or by any candidate will result in immediate disqualification.
- A candidate furnishing incorrect or false information shall stand disqualified.
